I’m a registered iOS developer, and I’ve been facing an issue with installing iOS developer updates for the past couple of years. I can download the updates, but they get stuck at 99.9% complete and don’t finish. I’ve tried following the instructions to force restart the phone, but it stays on the Apple logo screen until it dies.
I can update official iOS versions, but not beta versions. To update, I have to put the phone in DFU mode and install the update that way. This is frustrating and prevents me from making timely updates to my app and from diagnosing new issues during testing.
I’d like to request that Apple investigate this issue and identify a solution. For reference, I’ve installed a bare-bones version with no new apps, and the problem persists. I would like a resolution that allows me to update normally without having to DFU the phone each time. This occurs via OTA or IPSW manual download and installation.
Please refer to the following FB submission numbers: FB21642029 and FB21017894.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND BACK TO THIS MESSAGE AND HELP ME TROUBLESHOOT THIS ISSUE?!

I am located in Taiwan and recently updated my Mac to the latest OS and installed the newest Xcode. However, I’m experiencing extremely slow download speeds when trying to add the iOS 26.2 Simulator Runtime (approx. 8GB) via Xcode > Settings > Platforms.
It is currently downloading at a rate of only 500MB per hour, which is impractical. I have checked the official downloads page but couldn't find a standalone DMG link for this specific version.
My questions are:
Is there a direct download link (DMG) available on the Apple Developer portal for the iOS 26.2 Simulator?
If no direct link exists, are there any recommended methods to accelerate the download? (e.g., using terminal commands or changing DNS settings).
Any help or direct URLs would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi everyone.
I’m working on an iOS app that uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. I’m encountering an issue when trying to send notifications either from Firebase Functions or directly using the FCM token with the Firebase Admin SDK and REST API.
Error Message:
FirebaseMessagingError: Auth error from APNS or Web Push Service
code: 'messaging/third-party-auth-error'
message: 'Auth error from APNS or Web Push Service'
What I’ve Set Up:
iOS App Registered in Firebase
Bundle ID: Kilovative-Designs.ParkAware
APNs Key downloaded from Apple Developer Portal
Team ID and Key ID correctly entered in Firebase Console
Firebase Admin SDK Service Account setup and used for sending
Device is successfully receiving FCM tokens
Subscribed to topics and calling Messaging.messaging().subscribe(toTopic:) works
Using firebase-admin to send FCM messages via sendToDevice or sendToTopic
What I’ve Tried:
Tested push via firebase-admin in Node.js (got same APNs auth error)
Tested with both topic-based and direct token-based push
Confirmed the .p8 key is uploaded in Firebase, with correct Key ID and Team ID
Tried generating a new APNs Auth Key
Firebase Admin SDK is initialized with the correct service account
Using Node.js firebase-admin with a known good FCM token, and sending this payload:
{
notification: {
title: "Test Notification",
body: "This is a direct FCM test"
},
token: "cxleOwi73EhFh9C5_V4hED:APA91bE3W..."
}
Returns: FirebaseMessagingError: Auth error from APNS or Web Push Service
Questions:
Are there known conditions under which Firebase throws this error even if the APNs Auth Key is present?
Does the Bundle ID need to start with com. in the Apple Developer Portal and Firebase for APNs authentication to work?
Could this be a certificate or provisioning profile mismatch issue (even when using a .p8 key)?
Is there a way to manually validate APNs authentication from Firebase outside of actual push delivery?
Any insight or guidance would be incredibly helpful. I’m new to developing and have tried repeated efforts to fix this issue but still haven’t resolved it.
Thanks in advance!

I am trying to add promotional offers in my iOS App. The signature is being verified through a google cloud function. My user id, signature, and product and offerIds return perfect. Promotional offer appears in the payment sheet as well. When applying for payment, the "ding" sound comes as well. But then I get the UIAlert with Unable to Purchase Contact developer. Error code in logs is 3903

First time user here. Trying to build my React-Native app on xcode. I keep getting "Could not build Module" and "missing package product" and tried many combination for my Podfile.
I am on macbook pro M2, XCode version 16.2, building on iphone 16 v18.3.1. Pod version 1.16.2, react-native-cli:2.0.1,
Here is my Podfile. I tried to assign modular_headers to individual Firebase packages but then I cant pod install.
require_relative '../node_modules/react-native/scripts/react_native_pods'
require_relative '../node_modules/@react-native-community/cli-platform-ios/native_modules'
use_modular_headers!
platform :ios, '18.0'
prepare_react_native_project!
target 'plana' do
config = use_native_modules!
use_react_native!(
:path => config[:reactNativePath],
:fabric_enabled => false,
:app_path => "#{Pod::Config.instance.installation_root}/.."
)
post_install do |installer|
react_native_post_install(
installer,
config[:reactNativePath],
:mac_catalyst_enabled => false,
)
end
end
I'm trying to authenticate to a git host using SSH keys stored in 1Password. I have ~/.ssh/config with mode 600 set with a symlink:
Host *
IdentityAgent "~/.1password/agent.sock"
But ssh-add -l shows no identities. If I set $SSH_AUTH_SOCK, ssh-add -l works just fine. I'd love to not have to do this, though.
Why doesn't ssh-add seem to read ~/.ssh/config? The built-in version is OpenSSH_10.0p2, LibreSSL 3.3.6.
I've searched fruitlessly for an answer anywhere else.
There is a bug in Unity Plugins: Corehaptics.AssetPickerDrawer throws exceptions and draws incorrectly when fieldInfo or assetType is null (FB17305973). I fixed it and created a pull request: https://github.com/apple/unityplugins/pull/47
It has been months and this bug is really annoying.

Hi, I’m currently developing a watchOS app and ran into an issue where I can’t enable Developer Mode on my Apple Watch.
Device info:
Apple Watch Series 9 (watchOS 10.4)
Paired with iPhone 14 Pro (iOS 17.4.1)
Xcode 15.3 (macOS 15.5, Apple Silicon)
Issue:
When I try to run the app on my physical watch device, Xcode prompts that Developer Mode needs to be enabled. However, there is no approval request on the Apple Watch, and no Developer Mode option appears under Settings → Privacy & Security.
I’ve already tried the following:
Rebooting both devices
Unpairing and re-pairing the watch
Erasing and setting up the watch again
Signing out and back into my Apple ID
Using the latest Xcode version (15.3 and 16.3 both tested)
Running clean builds and checking provisioning profiles
Attempting install via both simulator and physical device
Still no luck — the app will not launch on the Apple Watch due to Developer Mode being disabled, and the option is missing entirely from Settings.
I visited an Apple Store Genius Bar, but they couldn’t help and told me to contact Developer Support. I’ve already submitted a support request, but in the meantime I wanted to ask here in case anyone else has experienced this and found a workaround.
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can shed some light on what’s going on with Apple’s one-hour security delay when trying to register an iPhone for development use.
I’m currently setting up an app build using Expo / EAS and a paid Apple Developer account. Every time I scan the device registration QR code or try to authorise my iPhone as a development device, I get hit with a “security delay — try again in one hour” message.
This happens every single time, even if I wait the full hour. The device is the same iPhone I always use, signed in to the same Apple ID, and verified with 2FA.
The only thing unusual about my setup is that I’m using Starlink for internet access. Because Starlink uses dynamic IP routing and your exit node changes frequently (depending on which satellite or ground station you’re on), it looks like I’m signing in from a new location each time — sometimes even hundreds of miles apart.
It seems that Apple’s security system flags each of these as a “new login” or “new device registration,” then enforces a one-hour safety lockout. That makes it basically impossible to register my device and proceed with iOS builds or testing.
Has anyone else run into this problem while using Starlink (or other dynamic-routing connections like VPNs or cellular hotspots)?
And if so — is there any known workaround or setting to whitelist a device, stabilise verification, or bypass the repeated one-hour wait?
This feels like an over-protective security feature that doesn’t play well with modern satellite internet setups.
Any insights from the Apple engineers or other developers would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim Lazenby

For the Linux version of my application which is written in C++ using Qt, I display the CHM format help files with this code:
QString helpFile{ QCoreApplication::applicationDirPath() + "/Help/" + tr("DeepSkyStacker Help.chm","IDS_HELPFILE") };
QString program{ "kchmviewer" };
QStringList arguments{ "-token", "com.github.deepskystacker", helpFile };
helpProcess->startDetached(program, arguments);
(helpProcess is a pointer to a QProcess object)
The -token com.github.deepskystackerpart of that ensures that only a single instance of the viewer is used for any code that uses that invocation.
Are there any chm file viewers for macOS that are capable of that sort of trick? The ones I've found on the App Store give minimal information and appear to be very simple minded tools that are not not intended for integration into an application as above.
I know that MacPorts offers ports of kchmviewer but I'd prefer not to use either that or HomeBrew ...

Hello,
I'm currently investigating an issue related to iOS credit card autofill (Payments & Card Details) in our mobile application.
Our app is built using React Native, and we are implementing card input fields using TextInput with the required autofill configuration:
autoComplete="cc-number"
textContentType="creditCardNumber"
Despite correctly configuring these properties, credit card autofill is not being triggered on iOS devices.
I would appreciate clarification on:
Is credit card autofill officially supported for React Native TextInput fields using autoComplete="cc-number" and textContentType="creditCardNumber"?
Are there any additional requirements (entitlements, associated domains, specific configurations, etc.) needed for payment autofill to work?
Is autofill expected to work inside WKWebView contexts?
Are there any known limitations or restrictions for third-party frameworks such as React Native?
I would appreciate any guidance or documentation you can share regarding the expected behavior and official support for this scenario
I have a project inside the project structure. I have around 300 unit tests in the project.
I see that for some of the subprojects, the coverage numbers show up correctly, but for other subprojects and the main project, the coverage number shows zero, even though the tests are running successfully.
The log I get is:
Aggregation tool emitted warnings:
warning: /Users/ABC/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/projectABC-hfzmkbdgpiswoxfvvnvhrafaiqyb/Build/ProfileData/A8EEC1FB-1699-4C29-A88C-D3DDA226DBC0/0A416494-A393-4319-AA47-502D72084C9C-43351.profraw: raw profile version mismatch: Profile uses raw profile format version = 8; expected version = 10
PLEASE update this tool to the version in the raw profile, or regenerate the raw profile with the expected version.
I only have one Xcode (26.0.1) on my machine. I tried cleaning the derived data, the cleaning project, and rerunning the tests, but it hasn't helped.
Please help me get the coverage number back. Thank you.
I am developing a simple watch app and I use my personal watch for development with Xcode. Personal watch is series 10 gps only.
I have two other watches that I want to use for testing the app, but not needing them to be connected to Xcode. The test watches have cellular option, and I need a cell plan per watch because the watches need to be standalone, not counting initial setup.
To get the standalone cell plan the watches need to be configured using AWFK. Here is what I have tried/current issues.
I switch between all three watches on my phone using the watch app.
Originally tried to put test watches in developer mode, thinking I would connect to Xcode, developer mode is not available when watch is setup using AWFK.
Pushed the watch app to apple connect, setup TestFlight group, added the test users and my phone user, accepted invites
TestFlight is installed on my phone, I see the testflight setup for the watch app
I set a test watch using watch app on the phone, run install for the test app from TestFlight on the phone, spinner moves for awhile then goes back to Install.
I am not able to get the watch app installed on the test watches from the phone. Is what I am attempting to do supported? I haven't found much specific documentation on this. If I pair the test watches as regular watches, set them to developer mode, can I pair them again as AWFK and will developer mode survive the switch? Or is there something really simple that I'm overlooking?
Appreciate any help that can be extended.
Hello,
I'm building this mobile app using Quasar - Capacitor on iOS.
The app is working perfectly, but I'm encountering an issue whenever I push the rep I get this error: "Error
Unable to open base configuration reference file '/Volumes/workspace/repository/ios/App/Pods/Target Support Files/Pods-App/Pods-App.release.xcconfig'.
App.xcodeproj:1"
I've tried every possible solution and made sure that everything is set perfectly.
Can anyone please help me with that?
Thanks in advance, appreciate you 🫶🏻
I’m using Developer iOS app to watch WWDC session videos. i notice it doesn’t record a video as watched after I watched it and even manual marking it using Mark as Watch has no effect.
I remember the issue started several years ago because some old WWDC videos were marked watches.

How can I allow the popup I am encountering while I run my UI tests with video recording in the Github actions.
Since these tests are running on VMs, it's not possible to manually click Allow. Also the remote robot cannot interact with OS-level dialogs.
Hi,
I'm generating MusicKit JWT tokens on my backend side and using it on the client side to query the Apple Music API. One concern I have is accidentally over issuing the scope of this JWT, resulting in accidental access more services than intended like DeviceCheck or APNS.
Other than using separate keys for MusicKit and other services, is there a way to limit the generated JWT to only the Apple Music API (https://api.music.apple.com/v1/*) using the JWT payload scope?

The app I'm working on has iOS 16.0 as target. Recently Live Activities support was added, but then it started crashing when running on iOS 16.0 devices.
After some investigation, I've found that the culprit was the presence of NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity and WidgetCenter.UserInfoKey.activityID, even though they were inside an @available(iOS 17.2, *) block. If I comment these two variables, the app work as expected. I've also tried adding #if canImport(ActivityKit) around the code, but without success.
But if the @available isn't working, how can I prevent this? It looks like a bug, since the documentation says that NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity is supported but iOS 14.0+, but I'm pretty sure it was introduced on 16.1.
This is the only output I get with the crash:

Hello,
I've encountered unexpected behavior related to version information in our app logs, and I'd like to ask for some advice.
We reviewed logs collected from a user running our app (currently available on the App Store). The logs are designed to include both the build number and the app version.
Based on the build number in the logs, we believe the installed app version on the user's device is 1.0.3.
However, the app version recorded in the logs is 1.1.5, which is the latest version currently available on the App Store.
In our project, we set the app version using the MARKETING_VERSION environment variable.
This value is configured via XcodeGen, and we define it in a YAML file.
Under normal circumstances, the value defined in the YAML file (MARKETING_VERSION = 1.0.3) should be embedded in the app and reflected in the logs. But in this case, the version from the current App Store release (1.1.5) appears instead, which was unexpected.
We'd like to know what might cause this behavior, and if there are any known factors that could lead to this.
Also, is it possible that MARKETING_VERSION might somehow dynamically reflect the version currently available on the App Store?
