My app is a camera app that supports Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode.
Normally, when the device rotates, I get the device orientation from iOS and use it to rotate the camera feed so that the preview stays correctly aligned.
However, when the app enters PiP mode, it is considered to be in the background, and I can no longer receive orientation updates from the system.
As a result, I can’t apply rotation corrections to the camera video in PiP mode.
Is there any way to retrieve device orientation while the app is in the background (specifically during PiP mode)?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I have an AUv3 that passes all validation and can be loaded into Logic Pro without issue. The UI for the plug in can be any aspect ratio but Logic insists on presenting it in a view with a fixed aspect ratio. That is when resizing, both the height and width are resized. I have never managed to work out what it is I need to do specify to Logic to allow the user to resize width or height independently of each other.
Can anyone tell me what I need to specify in the AU code that will inform Logic that the view can be resized from any side of the window/panel?

To list all of the users library playlists, however the resulting objects do not contain the playlist artwork in the JSON. I've tried adding the extend and include attributes as well but to no avail.

My app allows users to capture and save videos to the Photos app using the following Swift code:

Videos are successfully saved to Photos and play correctly. However, users report that when they AirDrop these videos from the Photos app to another device (e.g., iPad to iPhone), the videos are saved in the Files app on the receiving device instead of the Photos app. This issue is more common with higher-resolution videos, such as 2K, recorded in HEVC format at 30 fps.
I wasn't able to reproduce the issue locally.

I'm currently using ReplayKit for background screen recording, but I can't determine whether the screen is in landscape mode from the CMSampleBuffer. All other APIs for detecting screen orientation are foreground-based. What should I do?
I'm creating an app that uses AVCaptureSession to pass camera input to AVCaptureMetadataOutput type set [metaout setMetadataObjectTypes:@[AVMetadataObjectTypeFace]] and scan Face.
After updating to OS 26 Beta2 and iOS 26 Beta2, an issue has occurred where the delegate method of AVCaptureMetadataOutputObjectsDelegate is not called on some devices. The following devices are experiencing this issue.

This issue has not occur on any other devices I have.

In iOS 18, CarPlay shows an error: “There was a problem loading this content” after playback starts. Audio works fine, but the Now Playing screen doesn’t load. I’m using MPPlayableContentManager. This worked fine in iOS 17. Anyone else seeing this error in iOS 18?
I am trying to get MIDI output from the AU Host demo app using the recent MIDI processor example. The processor works correctly in Logic Pro, but I cannot send MIDI from the AUv3 extension in standalone mode using the default host app to another program (e.g., Ableton).
The MIDI manager, which is part of the standalone host app, works fine, and I can send MIDI using it directly—Ableton receives it without issues. I have already set the midiOutputNames in the extension, and the midiOutBlock is mapped. However, the MIDI data from the AUv3 extension does not reach Ableton in standalone mode. I suspect the issue is that midiOutBlock might never be called in the plugin, or perhaps an input to the plugin is missing, which prevents it from sending MIDI. I am currently using the default routing.

I'm encountering a critical issue with the MusicLibrary.shared.createPlaylist() method in MusicKit that's affecting our app's core functionality. Despite implementing all recommended authorization checks, the app consistently freezes for some users when this method is called.
What we've already verified before calling createPlaylist():
Network connectivity is properly checked and confirmed
Apple Music authorization is explicitly requested via MusicAuthorization.request()
User subscription status is verified using MusicSubscription.current.canPlayCatalogContent
Despite these precautions, many users report that their app completely freezes when attempting to create a playlist. This is particularly concerning as playlist creation is a core feature of our application.
User-reported workarounds (with mixed success):
Some users have resolved the issue by restarting their devices or reinstalling our app
Others report success after enabling "Sync Library" in Settings → Music Unfortunately, a significant number of users are still experiencing the issue even after trying both solutions above
We've reviewed the MusicKit documentation thoroughly and ensured our implementation follows all best practices. Our app correctly handles permissions and uses the async/await pattern as required by the API.
Is there a known issue with the createPlaylist() method that might cause it to block indefinitely? Are there additional authorization steps or settings we should be checking before calling this method? Could this be related to how MusicKit communicates with Apple Music servers?

Is this a bug or something?
SBS ViewPacking add a half a frame to the opposite eye.
Meaning if you look all the way right you can see an extra half frame with left eye and vice versa.
OU doesn't work at all, the preview just doesn't show a thumbnail and the video doesn't play.
Any hints on how to fix this? I submitted a bug report but haven't heard anything.
In our logging tools (Firebase) I see a lot of errors reported when users are playing content and the app transitions to the background. A AVPlayerItemFailedToPlayToEndTime notification is fired with an error containing error codes like -1102 and 1852797029 which seem to correspond to NSURLErrorNoPermissionsToReadFile and kCMIOHardwareIllegalOperationError respectively. To me, it looks like these might have something to do with caching logic.
The items being played are HLS streams and we make use of AVAssetDownloadTask to make any streamed content offline available. Our setup is similar to the sample provided here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/avfoundation/using-avfoundation-to-play-and-persist-http-live-streams. Whenever an item is selected for playback the app will check if a cached version is available and if so gets the url to the stored file like the "localAssetForStream()" method in the example, or get the asset from a currently running AVAssetDownloadTask for the item, or else, starts a new AVAssetDownloadTask and returns a AVAsset from that task to play.
This seems to work fine, and I can't reproduce the issues our users and our logging tools are reporting.
Is there some case I am missing where AVAssetDownloadTask and associated AVAssets might become unreadable when the app transitions to the background? Or do these errors indicate a different problem entirely?

Hello, I'm trying to create a webbrowser but currently when signed into apple music webplayer I get the following message when I attempt to play on any versions of my webbrowser:

Is there any way for me to use an AutoMix api in my IOS apps, I would play tracks using the Apple Music api and use AutoMix to attempt to merge tracks.

I use the Apple Music API to poll my listening history at regular intervals.
Every morning between 5:30AM and 7:30AM, I observe a strange pattern in the API responses. During this window, one or more of the regular polling intervals returns a response that differs significantly from the prior history response, even though I had no listening activity at that time.

At 5:50, a materially different history is returned, then it returns back to the prior history at the next poll. I've listened to all of the tracks in each set, but the 5:50 history drops some tracks and returns some from further back in history.
I've connected other accounts and the behavior is consistent and repeatable every day across them. It appears the API is temporarily returning a different (possibly outdated or cached?) view of the user's history during that early morning window.
Has anyone seen this behavior before?
Is this a known issue with the Apple Music API or MusicKit backend? I'd love any insights into what might cause this, or recommendations on how to work around it.

I'm evaluating the Apple Music Feed dataset and I noticed that the total number of songs available in the feed is too small. As of today, the number of objects returned in each feed is:
51,198,712 albums
23,093,698 artists
173,235,315 songs
This gives an average of 3.38 songs per album which is quite low. Also, iterating on the data I see that there are albums referencing songs that don't exist in the songs feed. I would like to know:
Is the feed data incomplete?
If so, in what situations an object may be missing from the feed?
