Question About CarPlay Certification When Using Custom Wiring Harness
Hello developers, My question isn't directly related to app or software development, but this seems to be the most appropriate channel to possibly find the information I need. Context I work for an automotive company and I'm currently looking for Apple CarPlay certification guidelines. We're in the process of installing a multimedia system in a vehicle. The most viable solution would be to use the multimedia unit and microphone provided by our supplier, but with a custom wiring harness developed by our company to simplify the installation process. The multimedia unit, microphone, and the supplier’s harness are already certified for CarPlay. Question Would using our company’s custom wiring harness affect the existing CarPlay certification of the supplier’s product? Any information, contact, or suggestion on where I could find official guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Unexpected high mobile data usage when travelling in Europe using an ESIM on iPhone 16 Pro Max
The iPhone mobile data usage skyrocketed to use 1GB per day whereas I am normally a 5GB a month data user. the culprit was Apple System Services General there is currently no iPhone functionality to turn off System Services Genera. the solution was to block updates.cdn-apple.com using data sniffer called Proxyman. Tip hat to the person who posted “High mobile data usage on iOS 18 and how to solve it” on Reddit.com This is something apple developers maybe should look at

Wireless CarPlay
i am running iOS 18.5 beta 3 (iPhone 16 pro max) and my phone will not connect wirelessly to any of my vehicles. When connected via the apple certified usb-c cord, it will connect just fine. I have removed all vehicles from my phone, then removed my phone from both vehicle, reconnected, and it still will not connect wirelessly.

buildAudienceType is not working as expected
Hi, Am using fastlane to upload into TestFlight. Am able to successfully upload the build without any issues. For Testing Internally , I want to upload the build into App Store Connect but I should restrict it on submitting to App Store. ( This is possible when i distribute the app via TestFlight Internal Only from XCode -> Organizer -> Distribute App (Select option with TestFlight Internal Only). I want to achieve the same using either Transporter/ fastlane. I tried setting buildAudienceType to INTERNAL_ONLY as per https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstoreconnectapi/buildaudiencetype but it is not working. Can you suggest how i can achieve this via fastlane?

Skip the "Do you want to open ?" Modal
We have an Angular web application which gets installed as a webclip on client iPads. The web application has buttons that will take the user directly to our native iOS application. We also would like a way for our webclip application when opened to perform some data lookups and if certain conditions are met, then take the user directly to our native iOS app. We're using vanilla JS window.open. This works well when the user manually taps button. However, this does not work when the webclip application tries to open the native iOS app without user interaction. In that case the window.open does nothing. The window.open target URL is the exact same in both cases. We tried using URL Schemes instead of Universal Links but with this the iPad displays a modal asking "Do you want to open ?". For our use case, this is unacceptable. Is there any way for us to skip this prompt? We'd like there to be no additional action needed from the user to be able to get from webclip to native iOS app beyond simply opening the webclip.

Screen Sharing failures after installing MacOS 26 Beta 2
Upgraded my M1 Mac mini from MacOS Tahoe 26 Beta to Beta 2. Prior to the update I had no problem connecting to the Max mini from my MacBook Pro M2 running Now, attempting to connect to the Mac mini from a MacBook Pro M2 running Sequoia 15.5. After the update, I can enter my password, but then I am disconnected with the error "This Mac was unable to start a High Performance connection to the Mac mini" and to "change the screen sharing type to standard and try again" Connecting via a "Standard" connection showed that the Window Server failed.

Merge 2 Apple IDs
Now that Apple is allowing users to merge two Apple IDs, how does one remove/delete songs from the Primary Apple ID music library? Is it a no-no to merge two Apple IDs? The notes on merging suggest this is a problem but offer no workaround. The only option I can see is to hide songs. Is this sufficient to allow the merging of two Apple IDs?

iPhone 13 Pro stuck in DFU/Recovery after failed flash.
Installed the iOS 26 Beta on my iPhone 13 Pro last night, hated it. I wasn't aware that there is a supported way of restoring back to iOS18.5, so I (foolishly) opted to flash the iOS18.5 ispw file onto my device using a 3rd party tool. Now, my device is stuck in a state between. Unable to flash, unable to use itunes to restore, randomly gives error codes during restoration attempts. Worries my device may be lost permanently! Please advise.

ArAnchor shifts
I encountered some issues while developing a Vision Pro program using Unity. After binding an ARAnchor to a game object, I overlapped the virtual game object with a real-world cup. However, when I moved around with the Vision Pro on, the virtual game object shifted, causing the real-world cup and the virtual object to no longer coincide. Is there a way to solve this?

Alternate App Icon Change Does Not Reflect in Notification Center on iOS 18.1+
When changing the app's alternate icon using UIApplication.setAlternateIconName(_:completionHandler:), the icon is updated correctly on the Home Screen and App Switcher. However, in Notification Center, the old app icon is still shown for notifications, even after the change has completed. Rebooting or change the device's language causes the correct icon to appear. This issue only occurs on iOS 18.1 and later. In iOS 18.0 and earlier, Notification Center correctly reflects the updated icon. Could you provide insights into how iOS caches notification icons and how we can force a refresh for all users?

Severe Keyboard Lag in Roblox on iOS 18.4 (Resolves When Low Power Mode is On)
Hi, I’m experiencing a serious keyboard lag issue on my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18.4. When playing games in Roblox, if I try to type in the in-game chat using the default iOS keyboard, the typing becomes extremely laggy and drops a lot of frames. However, if I turn on Low Power Mode, the issue disappears completely, and typing becomes smooth again. This suggests that the problem may be related to background optimization or system performance handling in iOS 18.4. Open Roblox and start any game with chat input and Try typing in the chat box using the iOS keyboard than Observe serious lag and frame drops and Enable Low Power Mode.The lag disappears instantly. • iPhone 15 Pro Max • iOS version: 18.4 • Keyboard: Default iOS keyboard • Issue only occurs when Low Power Mode is OFF Please investigate this behavior.
