Invalid Symlink on Kivy App
I built an app in Python with Kivy and I'm trying to bring it over to iOS. I made an Xcode project out of it that builds successfully, but it fails to install in the simulator or onto a device. Xcode cannot authenticate my account
I have been using Xcode 16.2 for a long time. I downloaded it from the developer site. I recently downloaded Xcode 16.3. I was offline on an airplane and I got an error authenticating my account. Since then, I have not been able to sign my apps. I was able to create a new app that worked but in my effort to resolve the problem, I deleted my account and now I cannot add it back. I was getting a "bad URL" error. Now I'm getting "Could not connect to the server." I sent an email to Apple Dev Support and they told me to download Xcode from the App Store. I did that and it gave me the same error. Is anyone else having this problem? If Apple Dev Support cannot resolve it, I don't know how I am going to.

Despite configuring everything correctly, I’m still encountering an error stating that the fonts provided by application are missing. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve done so far: Entitlements File: My entitlements file includes the com.apple.developer.fonts-provided-by-application key set as an array with 28 font items listed (e.g., Lato-Bold.ttf, Montserrat-SemiBold.ttf, etc.). All font names match the actual filenames, including extensions, and are spelled correctly. Info.plist: I’ve listed all the fonts under the UIAppFonts key, and they match the entries in the entitlements file. Font Files in Xcode: All font files are present in my project and included in Build Phases > Copy Bundle Resources. Provisioning Profile: The Fonts capability is enabled in my App Identifier in the Apple Developer Program, and I’ve regenerated my provisioning profile to ensure it reflects this entitlement. What’s Working: Other entitlements in the entitlements file (like keychain access and sandboxing) are functioning correctly, so the entitlements file is linked properly to my app target. The provisioning profile shows everything else is in sync. What’s Not Working: Xcode consistently shows the error "missing fonts provided by application", even though I’ve verified the fonts, file paths, and plist entries multiple times. Questions: Could this issue be related to the placement of the fonts folder within my project structure? Do I need to remove unused fonts or adjust file extensions (like .ttf vs .otf)? Is there another step I might be missing in Xcode or the Apple Developer Program? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Xcode 16 Automatically Builds & Runs Simulator While Editing Storyboard
I’m experiencing an issue in Xcode 16 where the app randomly builds and runs in the simulator while I’m designing items in the storyboard. Here’s what I’ve tried so far to stop this behavior: Disabled "Show Live Issues" in the General settings Removed all key bindings related to Build & Run in the Key Bindings settings Checked for unintentional shortcut triggers, but nothing seems to be causing it Update XCode from 16.1 to 16.2 Delete Derived Data Despite these actions, Xcode still automatically builds and launches the simulator at unexpected times, disrupting my workflow. Is there any setting or hidden configuration that could be causing this? How can I completely prevent Xcode from running the simulator automatically while editing UI in the storyboard? Would really appreciate any guidance on this!

Tabbar UITest bug on tvOS
When running UITests on tvOS, tabBar viewIdentifiers (UIKit) are no longer appearing. When you run the test, accessibility identifiers for tabs are no longer locatable but all other identifiers appears except for the tabs in the tabBar. In the stack trace of the debugger, if I print application, I can see all existing viewIdentifiers except those that were set for the tabs (on tvOS only). If I force an action on the simulator after the app has launched and the view appeared ie move left or right, the identifiers appears (confirmed by stack trace) and the test will continue as expected. This was not an issue in the past (no code changes). I am not sure if this appeared after updating my mac to Sequoia. But for iOS, there is no issue. This bug only appears on tvOS and specifically the tabs. Issue persists on: Sequoia 15.4.1 Xcode 16.3

Xcode 16.2 archive fails to compile XIB
Xcode 16.2 archive fails to compile XIB Xcode Archive command fails most of the time while compiling an XIB which was created in older Xcode. XIB was updated in Xcode 16.2 version also which did not fix this issue. The current behavior makes the text content completely unreadable since it's hidden behind the colored background. tvOS icon missing layers
I have an AppleTV app which I released in 2016. I've updated it and released a new version every year without much hassle. This year, with tvOS 17.2, the layered app icon isn't working right. This is a two-layer image made with PNGs. When it's selected, it looks right and the layers move correctly: But when it's not selected, the background layer disappears: Screenshots are from the simulator but it also happens on the device. It's inconsistent; sometimes it's the front layer that disappears. Occasionally both layers work, but I can't tell why. I've spent a day trying everything. Very frustrated. The icon previews correctly in Xcode and in Parallax Viewer. The image sizes are correct: 400 x 240 for Small, 800 x 480 for Small@2x, 1280 x 768 for Large. The back layer is a non-transparent PNG. I tried adding a Large@2x set. Didn't help. Originally I had a three-layer image with no middle layer PNG. I deleted the empty middle layer, but that didn't help. All the PNG files are from GnuIMP. Same color space, even. I was using the filenames tvicon-back-s.png and tvicon-back-s@2x.png. I tried taking out the @ sign in case that was confusing Xcode. (It never has before, but I am flailing here.) Anybody have any clues? If it's an Apple bug and there's nothing I can do, I'm going to just push the release button and hope it fixes itself someday.

Most useless Xcode error message ever
Neither a google search, nor a search of the Apple forums give me a clue as to how to locate or fix the following message I get from Xcode. CLIENT: Failure to determine if this machine is in the process of shutting down, err=1/Operation not permitted This error message came from attempting to build and execute an iOS App which ran just fine the last time I built it. Now, that was actually a little over two years ago. This is an iOS app, which I've run successfully for more than a year on macOS, and that, "My Mac (Designed for iPad)", is what my build target for this run was. Any ideas? Anyone? If this is a "known condition", just why doesn't a friendly internet search or a search of the Apple forums NOT tell me what it means, or what causes the message. Of course, I've upgraded the OS a few times, and updated Xcode as well, but have just not had any time to monkey around with my pet code project. Now that I've gotten some time, and I want to see what's new since March of '23, I finally remember where I stashed my code repository and decided to take it for a spin. Sure, I expect(ed) to see Xcode tell me that the version of Swift has been updated, and maybe some code constructs need to be fixed. But, NO, the code compiles fine. The first build attempt told me that I needed to update my provisioning profiles, and sign-in and agree to the updated developer agreements, which I did. Standard Memory Debugging Tools
In many cases I’ll be talking to folks with a memory management problem and I’ll say “You should investigate this with the standard memory debugging tools.” They then turn around and ask me “What are those tools?” Well, this is what I mean: Zombies — This lets you quickly detect when an object is used after it’s been deallocated. Learn more about it in the Finding zombies section of the Instruments Help and in Investigating crashes for zombie objects. There was also an excellent WWDC video about this, namely, WWDC 2010 Session 311 Advanced Memory Analysis with Instruments. This is no longer available in the video archive but if you can find a copy it’s well worth a watch. Address Sanitizer — This is a lower-level tool that finds a variety of common memory management issues, including use after free and buffer overruns. Learn more about this in Diagnosing memory, thread, and crash issues early and the various articles it links to. There’s also a good discussion of this tool, and other Xcode runtime diagnostic tools, in WWDC 2017 Session 406 Finding Bugs Using Xcode Runtime Tools (also no longer available from Apple). Hardware memory tagging — If you have access to a device with hardware memory tagging — starting with the A19 or M5 processors — consider enabling Memory Integrity Enforcement (MIE). For the details, see Enabling enhanced security for your app or watch Secure your app with Memory Integrity Enforcement. Even if you don’t want to do that for your production app, enable it just for development by checking Hardware Memory Tagging in the Options tab of Xcode’s scheme editor. Older tools — There are a variety of older tools that might be useful in some specific circumstances. See the Enabling the Malloc Debugging Features section of the Memory Usage Performance Guidelines for more information about these. Of specific interest is libgmalloc, which is documented in a UNIX man page. For some practical examples of how to identity a memory management crash report and then investigate that crash with these tools, take a look at WWDC 2018 Session 414 Understanding Crashes and Crash Logs. iOS app build error with iOS 18 SDK and Xcode 16
Hi, I am able to build my iOS app successfully, developed in objective-C with iOS 17.5 SDK and Xcode 15. Due to requirement of Appstore we are trying to build with iOS 18 SDK and Xcode 16. When building getting error in LAEnvironmentState.h file: a) "Property requires field to be named" b) "Expected member name or ';' after declaration specifiers" Same app when opening with Xcode 15 gets build without any issue. Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

{Project}-LinkMap-normal-arm64.txt changed?
I upgraded xcode to 16.2 and found that the txt file generated by Write Link Map File is different from before, no longer containing detailed data. CPListTemplate in CarPlay Simulator: Multiple Items Selected on Tap
I am encountering an issue while running my CarPlay app in the simulator using CPListTemplate. On app launch, when I tap on the first item in the list and then tap on the second item, both items remain selected instead of only the latest tapped item. This behavior does not align with the expected single-item selection functionality. Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there a workaround or a known resolution for this behavior?

Linking arm64 static library for iPhoneSimulator
I work on an iOS app, written in Objective-C and C++, that uses a static library. I build this library using a Run Script in Build Phases in Xcode. This is a fat library, containing arm64 code built for iPhoneOS, and x86_64 code built for iPhoneSimulator. I'm trying to figure out how to create an arm64 iPhoneSimulator build of my app, and I'm running into a problem. If I simply enable arm64 debug builds, I get an error message saying "building for iOS Simulator, but linking in object file built for iOS", indicating that the arm64 iPhoneOS code in the library is not compatible with an arm64 iPhoneSimulator target. Now, I can build the library as arm64 for iPhoneSimulator, but that means I'll have to build a separate library for the simulator build, since lipo won't combine arm64 iPhoneOS and arm64 iPhoneSimulator builds in one file. My question: how can I get Xcode to link with a different library for iPhoneSimulator builds than for iPhoneOS builds? All I can come up with is to use completely separate targets for debugging in the simulator vs. debugging on a real device, but that seems ugly. (It would be even better if I could use the same library for both arm64 iPhoneSimulator and iPhoneOS builds. The library in question is a math library which makes no system calls, so I think the same code should be usable for both builds, if only I could get the linker to allow that.)
