It seems like every time an IOS update is installed, the camera app file formats get reset to defaults. This setting is not available to manage at the MDM level. Many people need the the most compatible settings for the purpose of file sharing. So, now we have nearly 1,000 devices with a complete mix of photo and video formats. And IT has wasted MANY hours converting files for people.

Feature Request: Please either stop resetting the camera app file formats or allow us to manage those settings at the MDM level.

Hi Robert.

My first impression is that camera app settings should not be reset due to an OS update. If you can reproduce the issue, please use the Feedback Assistant to file feedback about this, including a sysdiagnose taken after the setting changes.

Separately, please also file feedback requesting the ability to manage the camera app file formats. Even if the setting is not reset during software updates, this may be a useful feature. If you do this, I suggest explaining specifically why managing this feature would be useful. In particular, I think it would be useful to explain why setting the format that the Camera app uses to capture photos, rather than applying conversions when those photos are exported to other systems.
